Masters Program, ”International Construction: Practice and Law″ (ICPL), University of Stuttgart
Dr Breyer is the creator of the Masters program, ”International Construction: Practice and Law″ (ICPL), being held in co-operation with the University of Stuttgart (Dr Breyer also sits on the Scientific Board for the Masters program and is a lead lecturer).
This is a Masters program for professionals who have attained a diploma and have at least 2 years working experience wanting further education in the area of international construction industry and international construction law.
The Masters program (Masters of Business Engineering) is rather unique being the only international construction law program offered in mainland Europe and we are proud to have integrated this type of program into a leading technical university in Germany.
The objective of the course is to drive student learning towards international construction rather than construction limited to one country or jurisdiction. The Masters Program focuses both on the Civil and Common law jurisdictions and brings together both practice and theory in the construction industry.
The lectures are renowned lawyers, judges and professionals in international construction law and the construction industry. In addition, a large number of companies promote and support the program. Some include, Ed. Züblin AG, Ernst & Young Real Estate GmbH, Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG, Drees & Sommer Infra Consult und Entwicklungsmanagement, WTE Wassertechnik GmbH, Max Bögl GmbH & Co. KG, Siemens AG – Siemens Real Estate Building Solutions.
The program is in the English language and commences annually (October 2014 for the first time). For the benefit of those students working, attendance is required only once every month from Thursday to Saturday. The duration of the course is 4 semesters, however the final semester should be dedicated to writing a Master\’s thesis, culminating in the diploma: Master of Business Engineering (MBE). The Masters program is ranked as a Master′s Degree worth 120 ECTS.
